　My artwork transforms old clothes and textiles into sculptures and installations featuring themes of memories and time.

　While working at a thrift shop, I noticed there is little difference between donations that would sell and those that had to be thrown away. Both hold experiences and memories of their past lives, but the latter group had to be disposed because of defects, tastes, and sizes.

　By repurposing these discarded textiles, I aim to give them new life and share some insight into their past with the viewer.

　私は古着や布を使って日常生活にあるかたちをモチーフに立体作品やインスタレーション作品を制作しています。必要とされなくなった古着を作品として再構成し、新しいかたちとして生まれ変わらせようと考え制作しています。大学では彫刻技法や空間芸術について学びました。
　学生の頃、働いていたリサイクルショップで、廃棄される古着と誰かに必要とされる古着の二つの事柄の行く末を眺めるうちに、古着を使った立体作品の制作をするようになりました。必要とされるものとそうでないものに大きな差は無いけれど所有者たちの個人的な事情、記憶や思い出によって選択されているのだと思います。一度作り出された物体は廃棄されない限り永遠に時間を刻んで行きます。人の使った物に残る記憶や時間、思い出の断片を掘り下げ、繋げて、重ねて、広げて、新たなかたちとして構成し誰かにとっての大切なかたちや居場所になることを願ってさまざまなモチーフを通して表現を続けて行きたいと考えています。
